Case Study / Transport Operations

A clearer record for work beyond the depot.

OpenSpaces combines driver work-time logging and fleet checklists in a practical platform designed around New Zealand transport operations.

  • Driver logbook
  • Fleet checklists
  • Field-first interface

The Need

The real working day rarely stays at a desk.

Drivers need a clear way to record work, rest, vehicle changes, locations, and notes while managers need fleet information that remains useful without taking control away from the driver.

The Approach

Start with the driver, then support the operation.

The interface keeps the current work state visible and makes common actions direct. Employer access remains read-only and under the driver's control.

What It Supports

Work-time records and checks in one operational system.

  • Work and rest events with vehicle, location, and note context.
  • A clear driver dashboard for the current day and next required action.
  • Checklists matched to the vehicles and assets a team operates.
  • Fleet details, locations, and reusable checklist templates.
  • Read-only employer visibility that preserves driver control.

Current status: OpenSpaces is an evaluation release and is not yet NZTA approved for use as a legal enforcement record.
